SLIAC Approves Schedules for Spring 2021

SLIAC Approves Schedules for Spring 2021

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Council of Presidents met on Thursday, Nov. 9th to discuss and review the proposed 2021 spring sport schedules and championships for all 17 sports within the SLIAC. Following a substantive and thoughtful discussion about protocols and plans to utilize and implement the NCAA SSI and local health organization guidelines as a consistent benchmark for all conference and non-conference play, the President's Council unanimously approved the sports schedules and championships for the spring, 2021 semester.

The health and safety of the participating student-athletes, athletic personnel, and broader institutional campuses plus surrounding communities continues to be a top priority and at the forefront of all discussions. While the schedules have been approved, spring sport competition will still be contingent upon the status of Covid-19 spread and access to appropriate testing as well as guidance from local and national public health officials. The approval of the 2021 spring schedules will provide a total of nine team sports with a regular-season schedule, plus a championship tournament while an additional eight individual sports will hold a conference championship meet.
