TO PROVIDE QUALITY ATHLETIC AND PERSONAL HEALTHCARE TO OUR STUDENT-ATHLETES THROUGH THE CARE, PREVENTION, EVALUATION, TREATMENT, REHABILITATION, AND MANAGEMENT OF ATHLETIC INJURY/PERSONAL ILLNESS, THUS ENABLING OUR STUDENT-ATHLETES TO PARTICIPATE AND COMPETE AT THEIR MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE LEVEL.
IF AN ATHLETE OR ATHLETIC INJURY REQUIRE ANY ADDITIONAL OR IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION ADVOCATE EUREKA HOSPITAL IS OUR OFFICAL HOSPITAL AND LOCATED JUST MINUTES FROM THE CAMPUS. IN ADDITION, EUREKA COLLEGE ATHLETIC TRAINING/SPORTS MEDICINE HAS ESTABLISHED WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH AREA ORTHOPEDIC, GENERAL MEDICINE PHYSICIANS, AND CHIROPRACTIC TO MEET THE NEEDS OF OUR STUDENT-ATHLETE.
THE EUREKA COLLEGE ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM IS LOCATED ON CAMPUS WITHIN THE RONALD W. REAGAN PHYSICAL EDUCATION CENTER. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH THE THERAPEUTIC MODALITIES, EQUIPMENT, AND SUPPLIES USED TO TREAT AND REHABILITATE MOST INJURIES COMMON TO ATHLETICS. ALSO LOCATED WITHIN THE REAGAN CENTER IS THE BONATI FITNESS CENTER, WHICH OFFERS A VARIETY OF CARDIO-FITNESS EQUIPMENT AND MATRIX WEIGHT FITNESS MACHINES TO ASSIST IN RETURNING OUR STUDENT-ATHLETES TO SPORT. DURING THE ACADEMIC DAY, THE ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM IS STAFFED BY OUR HEAD ATHLETIC TRAINER, WHICH ALLOWS OUR STUDENT-ATHLETES TO RECEIVE CARE IN A TIMELY MANNER WITHOUT LEAVING CAMPUS AND LOSING VALUABLE ACADEMIC TIME.

DR. MATT NANNIE, DCM
CHRIS SHARKEY, MS, ATC, starts his 4th season overseeing our Athletic Training/Sports Medicine Staff and care of our student-athletes. He comes to EC with over 20 years of athletic training/sports medicine experience. In addition to his duties and responsibilities as our Head Athletic Trainer, he serves as the Athletics Health Care Administrator (AHCA). In addition, he is a member of the Eureka College Compliance Committee and the Title IX Investigation Team. Chris has previously been a part of the EC family having served as interim head athletic trainer during the 1995 winter and spring sports season, as well as, assistant athletic trainer from 2007-2009 while employed with Great Plains Orthopedics in Peoria, IL. Chris and his wife Jan, reside in Gridley, IL with their Lab/Pit - Jersey Mae. They have two children Christopher (II) and Julia Sharkey of Eureka and Trey and Kathryn (Katie) Draper of Bloomington.
DR. BRETT KELLER, D.O./ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON and DR. AARON ROSSI, of Central Illinois Orthopedic Surgery (CIOS) have collaborated with Eureka College Athletics to provide orthopedic care and sideline coverage for all home football games. In addition, CIOS provides additional ATC coverage on an as needed basis. Located in Bloomington, IL, CIOS is committed to excellence in the treatment of acute or chronic orthopedic pathologies.
DR. ROB RICHARDSON, DCM, has been involved with Coach Barth and Eureka College Football since 2009. In 2014, Eureka College Athletics invited Dr. Rob to become a part of our Sports Medicine Staff. He has worked with many elite athletes from Olympic and Jr. Olympic hopefuls, The Illinois Ballet, and Strongman/Strongwoman competitors. He is involved in the all-natural bodybuilding, and the powerlifting community as a competitor as well as a judge. He opened Health Solutions in Morton, with an emphasis on Sports and Family Chiropractic utilizing the Gonstead Technique.
DR. MATT NANNIE, DCM, with Health Solution is also part of our Sports Medicine Team. His extensive background and training, along with his passion for sports and the challenges of being a competitive athlete are a welcomed addition to our staff. He trained and competed in all-natural bodybuilding competitions, where he learned the diet and nutrition protocols essential to performance and competition at all levels.
