BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Eureka junior Dakota Bennington (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian H.S./Olivet Nazarene) has been named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, according to a Monday announcement from the league office. Bennington averaged 26.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in the three non-conference contests last week.

Bennington, who received weekly honors from the SLIAC for the first time, shot 53 percent from the field for the week. He scored at least 24 points in all three outings, including a season-high 29 points Saturday night at Berea thanks to a 10-for-12 effort at the free throw line.

Eureka will return to action this Saturday in an 8 p.m. matchup with NAIA St. Francis, part of the USF Classic in Joliet, Ill.
