EUREKA — The talented frisbee dogs that you've seen perform at professional and college sporting events across the country are coming to Eureka College.
Andrew Han of Halftime Dogs Flying Disc Show and his dogs will perform at halftime of the Eureka women's and men's basketball games against Iowa Wesleyan on Feb. 8 at Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena and Convocation Center.
The event is sponsored by the EC Campus Activities Board. Cost of admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children and senior citizens and free for Eureka College faculty, staff and students. The women's game will begin at 1 p.m., with the men's following at 3 p.m.
Han has been competing in the sport of canine disc since 2009 with his first disc dog Solar. They quickly rose to the top of the sport and continually placed in the top 10 in their first season. Solar and Han won their first disc dog world championship in 2014. Nan also competes with three other dogs, all from various rescues and shelters. He is sponsored by Hero Disc USA and is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Han is one of six disc dog world qualifiers, world champions and world record holders on the Halftime Dogs team who provide halftime entertainment and showcase their talents across North America.
Halftimes Dogs has performed for the NFL, NBA, MLB, ESPN, MiLB, NCAA, AAF, AFL MASL, the Expedition League, USA Sevens Rugby, American Gold Cup (equestrian) and many colleges, as well as corporate events, dog festivals and expos, county and state fairs, school pep rallies and assemblies and other special events.
