Eureka Lands Eleven on SLIAC Spring All-Academic Team

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Eleven Eureka College student-athletes were recognized for their success in the classroom, earning spots on the SLIAC Spring All-Academic Team.

The baseball program led the way with nine honorees in Drew Danehl (Highland, Ind./Thornton Fractional South), Josh Frenden (New Port Richey, Fla./River Ridge), Grant Hackney (Morton, Ill./Morton), Miguel Islas (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice), Trevor Kinder (West Plains, Mo./West Plains), Ethan Patterson (Glasford, Ill./Illini Bluffs), Gabe Peters (Washington, Ill./Washington Community), Carter Piercy (Peoria, Ill./Peoria), and Andrew Sprinkle (Dorsey, Ill./Edwardsville).

Softball added two selections, with Danika Apostolovich (Riverside, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) and Breannyn Dixon (Newark, Ill./Newark Community) representing the Red Devils.

To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, be at least a sophomore academically, and have completed at least one full year at their current institution.
