Buduris Named ABCA All-American
GREENSBORO, NC – Just three days after being named First Team All-Region, Sam Buduris has been named the Red Devils' first ABCA All-American in program history.
Throughout the season, Sam Buduris (Shorewood, Ill./Minooka) left his mark on the field, breaking seven single-season program records. His contributions to the program have no gone unnoticed, as evidenced by the multiple awards he has received. Just three weeks ago, he secured a spot on the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team. Earlier this week, his performances earned him a spot on the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 8 First Team. Now, his top honor has arrived as he claims a spot on the ABCA/Rawlings All-American Fourth Team.
The Red Devils' slugger posted impressive numbers at the plate, showcasing a batting average of .411, an on-base percentage of .467, and a slugging percentage of .748, while driving in 44 runs on the season. Buduris was also a significant threat on the base paths all season long, recording 33 stolen bases in just 40 attempts.
Buduris was one of just three SLIAC players to receive ABCA All-American honors, joining Landon Mokris (ABCA Second Team All-American) of Greenville and Hunter Strong (ABCA Third Team All-American) of Spalding.
