Ethan McDonald Named SLIAC Pitcher of the Week
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Eureka baseball's Ethan McDonald (Cleveland, Okla./Mannford) has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week following a dominant outing on the mound.
McDonald delivered a complete game shutout against Blackburn on Friday, leading the Red Devils to a 9-0 victory in the opening game of the series. He tossed all 9.0 innings, allowing just three hits while striking out a season-high nine batters and keeping the Beavers off the scoreboard.
The right-hander was in control from the start, retiring the first 14 batters he faced and not surrendering a hit until the fifth inning.
His performance helped spark Eureka to a series sweep of Blackburn, continuing the team's strong stretch of play.
McDonald and the Red Devils return to action Wednesday on the road against Knox, with first pitch set for 3 p.m.
