Xavier Brisbon Named SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Eureka's Xavier Brisbon (Oswego, Ill./Oswego East) has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after a pair of impressive performances in goal for the Red Devils.

Brisbon anchored the Eureka defense in Saturday's 1-0 road victory over Blackburn, recording five second half saves to preserve the clean sheet and help the Red Devils pick up a crucial SLIAC win. The senior goalkeeper had another strong earlier in the week at Greenville, making 7 saves in a hard-fought 2-0 defeat.

Across the two matches, Brisbon totaled 12 saves and posted a 0.857 save percentage, continuing his impressive first season between the posts for Eureka.

Brisbon and the Red Devils will return to action on Tuesday, traveling to Wisconsin to take on Lawrence at 5 p.m. in a makeup of the postponed Sept. 20 matchup.
