Red Devils Claim MWPVC East Regional Title at Home

EUREKA, Ill. – The Eureka men's volleyball team captured the MWPVC East Regional title on their home court Saturday, cruising through pool play before prevailing in a thrilling championship match.

The Red Devils rolled through pool play with wins in straight sets over SIU Edwardsville B (25-13, 25-23) and Indiana State (25-17, 25-16) to advance to the semifinals as the top seed out of Group A. In the semifinal matchup, Eureka made quick work of Western Illinois, winning 25-11 and 25-15 to punch their ticket to the championship match.

The championship proved to be Eureka's toughest test of the tournament, as they were forced to go the distance against Bradley. The Red Devils captured the opening set 25-17, but Bradley bounced back with a 25-21 win in the second. With momentum on the visitors' side, Eureka responded emphatically in the deciding set, racing to an early lead and holding on to win 15-8 and claim the MWPVC East Regional crown.

"To say I am extremely proud doesn't even cover it," head coach Noah Ray said. "What the guys accomplished today was incredible. This was an absolute group effort. We continue to raise the standard of Eureka volleyball and I'm excited to see how we continue to grow as a team moving forward. Go Red Devils!"
