Garcia Earns Second SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week Award

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – For the second time this season, Eureka's Naitzy Garcia (Mendota, Ill./Mendota) has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, following another standout performance in goal.

Garcia recorded 13 saves in just 45 minutes of action on Sunday against IU Columbus, holding the Crimson Pride scoreless in the first half. Despite a 2-0 loss for the Red Devils, Garcia's effort helped keep Eureka within striking distance for much of the match.

Earlier in the week, the junior added two more saves in Tuesday's road contest at Faith Baptist, bringing her weekly total to 15 saves.

Garcia and the Red Devils return to McKinzie Field on Wednesday to host Knox College at 5 p.m.
