Red Devils Fall to Knox in Midweek Clash

EUREKA, Ill. – The Eureka women's soccer team faced a tough test Wednesday evening at McKinzie Field, falling 4-0 to Knox. The Prairie Fire capitalized on early opportunities to secure the win.

Knox (3-2-1) struck first in the 14th minute when Eliana Juarez finished off a pass from Isabella Shubert. Just two minutes later, an unfortunate deflection led to an own goal that doubled the visitors' lead. Grace Johansen added a third before halftime, and Isabella Urrutia Flores capped the scoring in the 71st minute to seal the win for the Prairie Fire.

Despite the scoreline, Eureka (1-4-0) saw another standout performance from goalkeeper Naitzy Garcia (Mendota, Ill./Mendota), who made 20 saves, the most by any SLIAC goalkeeper in a game this season. Garcia's effort kept the Red Devils in the match as she faced 36 total shots, including 23 on goal.
