EUREKA, Ill. – The Eureka women's soccer team delivered a dominant performance Tuesday night at McKinzie Field, earning a 6-0 victory over Andrews, the program's largest victory since 2021.
Eureka (3-5-0) wasted no time, striking just 3 minutes into the match when Addison Byers (Flushing, Mich./Flushing) scored off a pass from Daphne Collette (Murray, Utah/Murray). The Red Devils doubled their lead in the 19th minute as Krisean Buchana (St. Louis, Mo./Ritenour) finished from close range, assisted by Byers. Brianna Harris (O'Fallon, Mo./Fort Zumwalt West) then struck twice before halftime, the first in the 33rd minute from an Ella Mohebbi (Katy, Texas/Cinco Ranch) assist, and the second just before the break. Harris' first half brace gave Eureka a commanding 4-0 lead at the half.
Byers added her second goal of the night in the 59th minute off a setup from Cierra Crady (Louisville, Ky./Fairdale), and Morgan Oginsky (Flushing, Mich./Flushing) capped the scoring in the 86th minute with her first career goal, assisted again by Collette.
Freshman goalkeeper Chloe Pluger (Coal City, Ill./Coal City) made her first career start and earned a shutout with two saves, while the Red Devils outshot Andrews 33-4 overall and 17-2 on target. The six goals also marked Eureka's highest single-game total since 2021.
