Women's Wrestling Finish Second in SLIAC Preseason Poll

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Eureka women's wrestling team has been selected to finish second in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, according to the league's preseason poll released on Friday.

Schreiner was picked to repeat as conference champions, earning 25 points and five first-place votes. Eureka received 16 points, securing the second-place spot, the same position they finished in at last season's SLIAC Championship. Lyon was selected third with 12 points, while Fontbonne finished fourth with 9 points. Blackburn and Westminster rounded out the poll in fifth and sixth place, respectively.

After finishing as the SLIAC runner-up last season, the Red Devils return five All-SLIAC wrestlers. McKenzie Cook, a first-team all-conference selection and the SLIAC Women's Wrestler of the Year last season, is back and will look to build on her success. Kyley Bair and Natallie Tobuk return after earning second-team honors. Jaylah Dalton and Audrey Driskell, who both received third-team all-conference honors, will also be back for Eureka. The Red Devils also welcome several newcomers who are expected to make an immediate impact on the program.

The Red Devils begin their season tomorrow at the Luther Open in Decorah, Iowa. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., and results will be available here.
