Red Devils Finish Fourth at SLIAC Championships

EUREKA, Ill. – The Eureka women's wrestling team hosted the SLIAC Women's Wrestling Championships on Friday afternoon and finished fourth overall, highlighted by a podium finish from Madison Farris.

The Red Devils finished the day with 10.5 total team points, trailing conference champion Schreiner with 128.5 points, runner-up Huntingdon with 108.5, and third-place McMurry with 31.5. Eureka outscored Lyon and Westminster, who finished fifth and sixth respectively, to secure their spot in the top four of the conference standings.

Madison Farris led the way for the Red Devils at 180 pounds, finishing as the team's only podium finisher. After dropping her opening match by fall to Schreiner's Tracy Linklater, Farris bounced back in dominant fashion in the third-place bout. She pinned Westminster's Emilie Medlock in just 1:02 to secure her third-place medal and earn SLIAC All-Conference honors for the third time in her career.

In the 160-pound bracket, Jaylah Campbell battled through a tough slate to earn a fifth-place finish. Following losses to a pair of Huntingdon opponents, Campbell ended her tournament on a high note by pinning Catherine Paz Garcia of Lyon in 1:57 during the fifth-place match.

Vivian Guither took home fifth place at 145 pounds after facing Christina Pahcheka of Schreiner and Adriana Azuara of McMurry.

The 138-pound division featured an intra-squad showdown for fifth place between teammates Randi Campe and Ahleia Young. Campe reached the final match after tough battles against Caden Collett and Emma Coyle, eventually defeating Young by fall in 2:18 to claim the fifth-place spot. Young finished in sixth place overall, having faced a difficult path that included an opening-round match against the eventual 138-pound champion, Joy Jackson of Schreiner.
