Cross Country Celebrates Seniors at Bradley Intercollegiate

PEORIA, Ill. – The Eureka cross country team competed at the Bradley Intercollegiate on Friday evening, then followed the meet by honoring their senior class.

On the men's side, Bailey Webster (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) led the way in the 8k with a time of 28:38.5, followed closely by Tony DeLira (Chicago, Ill./Alcott) at 29:02.8. Jose Amador (Kempton, Ill./Tri-Point) finished third for Eureka with a time of 31:51.4. Merdi Ilonga (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) had a strong debut, finishing in 33:13.7, while Tucker Williamson (Monticello, Ill./Monticello) crossed the finish line at 33:47.8.Hayden Skaggs (Mansfield, Texas/Mansfield) rounded out the field for the Red Devils with a time of 48:00. 

The Red Devil men finished tenth overall with 229 points in a competitive field that included Division I, II, and III schools, as well as community colleges.

On the women's side, Rachel Fisher (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) achieved a collegiate personal record (PR) in the 3-mile race, finishing with a time of 21:22.4. Emily Baker (Washington, Ill./Washington) finished closely behind at 21:50.6. Isabella Carbajal (Chicago, Ill./Shepard) finished third for the Red Devils with a time of 25:52.9, while Odessa Grove (Lewistown, Ill./Lewistown) rounded out the field at 27:30.6. 

The Red Devils concluded the evening by celebrating their senior class, which includes Rachel Fisher, Emily Baker, Isabella Carbajal, Odessa Grove, Hayden Skaggs, and Tony DeLira.
