Fisher and Webster Named Second Team All-SLIAC
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Eureka's Rachel Fisher (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) and Bailey Webster (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) have been named to the All-SLIAC Second Team, based on voting by the league's coaches. This marks the second time both runners have received all-conference honors, as each was also named to the Second Team in 2022.
On the women's side, Rachel Fisher earned the honor with an 11th-place finish at the SLIAC Championships on November 2. She set a personal record (PR) in the 6k, finishing with a time of 26:13.18. Fisher came just 10 seconds shy of First Team honors, improving by 53 seconds over her previous PR in the event.
On the men's side, Bailey Webster also finished in 11th place, just one spot away from earning First Team honors. Webster shaved 9 seconds off his previous PR in the 8k, finishing with a time of 27:19.37. He was less than a second from securing a spot on the All-SLIAC First Team.
In addition to the individual honors, the Eureka women's cross country team was awarded the SLIAC Team Sportsmanship Award. Isabella Carbajal (Chicago, Ill./Shepard) represented the women's team on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team, while Hayden Skaggs (Mansfield, Texas/Mansfield) was named as the men's team representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
