Glover’s School Record Lifts Eureka at UIS Invite

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Eureka cross country team had a strong showing at the Prairie Stars Invite on Friday evening, highlighted by Cole Glover's record-setting performance in the 7K. Glover took down the school record with a time of 24:00.78, leading the men's team with another strong outing.

On the women's side, Zoe Stoecker (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) ran her first collegiate 5K, finishing with a time of 28:17.11. Stoecker showed impressive improvement from the previous week, maintaining a faster pace over the longer distance.

The men's team was led by Cole Glover (Hopkinsville, Ky./University Heights) and Bailey Webster (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria), who continued their strong partnership at the front of the pack. Glover set a new school record in the 7K with a time of 24:00.78, finishing 47th overall. Webster followed closely with a personal best of 24:10.94, placing 54th overall.

Freshman Evan Gillespie (Jacksonville, Ill./Jacksonville) made his mark in his first 7K, finishing with a time of 32:51.42. Despite the challenging distance, Gillespie showed a lot of promise and is gaining valuable experience with each race.

"I am really happy with how the team performed tonight," said head coach Chris Robinson. "Each of them carried a faster pace per mile over a longer distance and are showing great progress.
