Eureka Falls to UW-Whitewater in Lopata Classic Consolation Game

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Eureka men's basketball team fell 116-73 to UW-Whitewater on Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the Lopata Classic.

After UW-Whitewater opened with a 4-0 start, Eureka responded with a 7-2 burst capped by an Andrew Coker (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) layup to take a 7-6 advantage. However, this would be the only lead of the day for the Red Devils as UW-Whitewater answered with an 8-0 run to regain control and, moments later, used a 12-0 surge to push its advantage to 34-18. The Warhawks continued to pull away from there, taking a 62-36 lead into halftime behind efficient shooting and points off turnovers.

UW-Whitewater maintained its pace in the second half and continued its strong offensive performance to close out a 116-73 win.

Jaxson Provost (Kankakee, Ill./Bishop McNamara) finished with 12 points, while Ben Carter (Morton, Ill./Morton) added 10. Andrew Coker and Jonah Lauff (Pana, Ill./Pana) contributed seven and six points, respectively, and Eureka's bench combined for 44 points on the afternoon.
