Eureka Held Scoreless in Loss to Lyon

EUREKA, Ill. – The Eureka men's soccer team came up short against Lyon on Thursday night, falling 4-0 after the Scots pulled away with late goals.

The visiting Scots (5-3-2, 3-0-0 SLIAC) opened the scoring in the 31st minute on a goal by Tiago Donadon. Lyon extended its lead in the 58th minute when Lucca Torres added a goal to double the visitors' lead. Donadon and Torres each added their second goal of the night in the 87th and 88th minutes, respectfully, to extend the lead to four goals and put the game out of reach.

Eureka (4-8-2, 0-3-1 SLIAC) tallied nine shots and earned five corners. James Williams (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnet) led the Red Devils with four shots, while Eli Sanchez (Belleville, Ill./Mascoutah), Michael Kondilis (Chicago, Ill./Maine South), Pascal Calonges (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township), Oscar Villagrana (Bakersfield, Calif./Ridgeview), and Tristan Martinez (Flowery Branch, Ga./Cherokee Bluff) each added one.

In goal, senior Xavier Brisbon (Elgin, Ill./Central) recorded a season-high of 10 saves, including seven in the second half.
